        1.  There is a workshop on enhancing the teacher’s creative and cognitive potential organized on the 26th jan at akshayam preschool and resource centre, C.V. Raman nagar Bangalore.                   The workshop is designed to equip participants with techniques and ideas on how to use teaching aids/materials more creatively and innovatively. The workshop is open to Parents, Pre-school teachers, Primary teachers, Special Educators, Therapists and all others who would find this topic interesting and helpful.

         2.    KILIKILI is organizing the Kilikili - Habba at M N Krishna Rao Park.
  Timings from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at M N Krishnarao Park, Basavangudi on the 22nd of Jan.  Activities for the day include

We were in Bangalore last one month or so. Augmentative communication

When I started out with PECS ,my mother was very apprehensive that it could impair his speech development.So are may people. My mother had her rationale to it.She felt if one makes it very easy to demand things with picture cards, why should he bother to talk?We have been assured over and over again by therapists whenever we use any aided communication,either verbal behaviour/ PECS, it doesn't stop him from talking. When you give a picture card for water,you stress on the word every time he demands for water.There are no substitutes for talking but these are crutches in some sense,it lowers the child's frustration and gives him an opportunity to communicate.
